Common platform differences
localhostmeans the current device. A phone cannot use it to reach a model, MCP service, or self-hosted server on a computer; use an accessible LAN or public address.- iOS and Android impose stricter background, filesystem, and microphone limits, so automatic sync and long tasks can be affected by system scheduling.
- Linux desktop environments vary in tray, font, and file-association support.
- Separate editor windows depend on a desktop window system and are not shown on mobile.
- Local commands can execute programs, so stdio MCP and the NoteGen local MCP service are desktop-only.
If behavior differs from this table, confirm the NoteGen and OS versions, then see Troubleshooting.
